Well, as many of you may already see, Google has laid the smack down on ProBlogReviews by reducing my PR to 0. I guess I have become the next victim of PayPerPost syndrome, not that I care. I do more free site reviews than I have ever done paid and if the big machine known as Google doesn't take that into account then it is what it is. I will not remove Google Adsense from my site as others in my situation have done because quite frankly, I saw this coming. I am not the first nor will I be the last to take a drop in PR. Never mind that my traffic has actually tripled this last 3 months, which by the way says more to me than PR ever will. Never Mind that my Alexa Rank has went from 6 million to 346,987 in the same time frame. I can let that all go because if I let a PR drop worry me one bit then Google will have won and that is something I refuse to allow.

Hmm...That's bad, but Google PR doesn't mean anything.. It's Google's way to let you know that you're doing a good job! :s
It's the visitors, comments that counts...
Good that you have a positive outlook on this. Mine was hit about a week ago and I was devastated. Nevertheless, there has been talk about using other ranking systems besides PR and we shall see what happens next.

Well do not worry google is not all you need.Search only give you some visitors compared to other methods.I heard you review blogs. Can you review my blog http://greatestreviews.blogspot.com
I've read other people talking about the smack down, but never had the chance to chat to someone about it when it was happening... I'm just starting to get into PayPerPost - seems they're using RealRank anyways, so it's not going to affect your business with them.
Some of the stuff I've been reading online have pointed me to thinking that the smack down doesn't affect traffic from the search engines. We were a little nervous about starting to do PayPerPost, but then realized, hey we weren't getting any traffic as a new blog anyways...
Have you noticed any drop in the past few days? How have you managed to triple your traffic in the last 3 months? Just from doing free blog reviews? Anyways, neat business model - commenting on people's blogs in between paid posts. Good luck!

Google is quickly becoming the hated behemoth that Microsoft is. Not to mention, anyone worth their salt does not rely on Google for traffic anymore. I think Google is a little upset about that but with Web 2.0 and other marketing ideas, Google just isn't as powerful as they like to think they are. Too bad for them because before you know it, as far as Google PR is concerned, it will mean nothing.
I just learned there's a difference between the PageRank that is reported in the Google Toolbar (which apparently gets updated once every few month), and the actual PageRank that your webpage actually has (which is updated daily, used in the search algorithms, and impacts your position in the results)...
Out of curiosity, which page rank got slashed?
I have a PR5 site crushed to PR1, a PR7 crushed to PR3, two PR4's crushed to PR2, and so forth.
